What is an electronic cigarette?
Answer
The V2 electronic cigarette is technology's answer to the smoking epidemic. V2 electronic cigarettes offer an authentic cigarette experience without the tar, smoke, ash and thousands of toxins typically found in tobacco cigarettes. The key to the technology is the elimination of combustion. V2 Electronic cigarettes do not burn to create smoke like traditional cigarettes. The V2 electronic cigarette is a personal vaporizer device. V2's proprietary nicotine liquid is literally atomized into a vapor/steam at comparatively low temperatures when compared to burning tobacco. The vapor feels and tastes like smoke, though it is anything but smoke. V2 vapor contains no tar and no carbon monoxide. Your lungs will feel the difference!

How do I use the V2 electronic cigarette?
Answer
The first step is to open the box. Although some kits differ, all V2 kits include at least one V2 battery, a charger, a pack of V2 atomized flavor cartridges, and an owner’s manual. We recommend that you read through your owner’s manual thoroughly before using your V2.

For optimal performance it is recommended that you fully charge your V2 battery before your first use. To charge the battery, simply screw the battery into a V2 USB adapter, and then plug the USB adapter into a computer, the included USB/Wall adapter, or into one of our convenient 12-volt car adapters.

When charging your V2, the LED light on the USB charger will glow red. You will know when your V2 is fully charged because the LED on the USB charger will glow green. When you see the green light, unplug the charger from the power source and unscrew the battery from the charger. You are now ready to connect your first nicotine cartridge to the V2.

To connect a flavor cartridge to your V2, simply screw it into the battery until it fits tightly. Your V2 is ready to use!

Kick start each new cartridge by taking a few long deep puffs. This action will warm the liquid and prime the heating element producing a thick consistent vapor with each subsequent puff. As you press V2 to your lips and inhale, the LED light at the tip will glow just like the tip of a burning cigarette. Relax and enjoy the rich smooth V2 vapor, free from the smoking guilt.

Your V2 electronic cigarette is always active and has no on or off switch. (Unless you are using one of our manual accessory batteries, which are activated by depressing the black button on the side of the battery). Each V2 flavor cartridge is roughly equivalent to one pack of cigarettes. This conveniently allows you to use your V2 on the go. Instead of lugging around a thick cigarette box and lighter, a single V2 battery and cartridge combo can go with you anywhere, and last as long as a full pack or traditional smokes.

What is in the Vapor?
Answer
V2™ nicotine vapor has three primary ingredients; food grade flavoring, nicotine, and propylene glycol (a common additive in food coloring and baking mixes). Propylene Glycol is added to our vapor formula as a vaporizable base to dilute pure liquefied nicotine because it can be atomized at substantially lower temperatures than water. Because of its low levels of oral toxicity, propylene glycol was classified by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration as "generally recognized as safe" (GRAS) for use as a direct food additive. V2 vapor fluid also contains food-safe flavoring compounds that vary depending upon which V2 flavor you are using, and pharmaceutical grade nicotine (except in our "zero" strength cartridges which contain no nicotine) To see a detailed list of the ingredients used in V2 vapor cartridges please visit our downloads page to download the latest copy of our ingredients list. V2 Vapor fluid contains no tar, no carbon monoxide and none of the cancerous agents found in normal tobacco cigarettes, and there is nothing in our proprietary nicotine vapor that will clog or blacken your lungs!

What is the difference between the automatic and manual batteries?
Answer
Deciding between our automatic and manual batteries is an issue of personal preference. Some customers swear by the automatic, while others prefer the manual.

V2 automatic batteries operate the same as a traditional cigarette. All you have to do is puff. When you puff you are telling the V2 to activate the atomizer and produce vapor. Automatic batteries create the thickest vapor when primed (To prime your V2 auto, take a few strong deep puffs in rapid succession. This will heat up the liquid and create the thickest possible vapor on subsequent puffs).

In contrast, the V2 manual battery has a small rubber button which you must press to activate the atomization process. Manual batteries offer a greater lever of control over the heating element inside the cartridge, because you can heat up the liquid before you actually take a puff. They require no priming like the automatic batteries, and can produce thicker vapor more quickly and with less puffs than the automatic.

If you don't want to press a button, then the automatic is probably a better choice for you. As a general rule, the automatic batteries are a little easier to use and are better for use when driving. On the other hand, the manual battery can produce thicker vapor. So if you like your vapor extra thick, you might want to consider a manual.

Note: Starting September 1st 2010, the V2 Standard, Traveler, and Ultimate kits will be shipped with both an Auto and a Manual battery, unless otherwise requested.

What strength cartridges should I buy?
Answer
When switching from traditional cigarettes to the V2 you may have to try a few different strengths until you find just what's right for you. Here are some rough comparisons using Marlboro cigarettes as an example:

V2 Full Strength 18mg = Unfiltered Cigarette
V2 Medium Strength 12mg = Marlboro Red
V2 Light Strength 6mg = Marlboro Light
V2 Zero Strength = Just Flavoring No Nicotine

There are thousands of chemicals in traditional tobacco cigarettes. Many of these chemicals are added to intensify and speed up the delivery of nicotine to your brain. When you make the switch to V2, initially you might feel that something is missing. This is completely normal. V2 does not contain all the harmful added chemicals, therefore you may want to up your level of nicotine until you detox from the chemicals in traditional cigarettes. This will ensure a smoother transition to the V2. Remember: by cutting out all of these toxins you are making a major step towards the betterment of your health! Over time, we recommend that you gradually reduce your nicotine consumption until you are using only our Zero strength cartridges.

How long does a flavor cartridge last?
Answer
One V2 flavor cartridge is comparable to about 1 pack of tobacco cigarettes. How long a cartridge lasts depends on your smoking style. You will know when a cartridge needs to be replaced, because the vapor will diminish and you will begin to taste a burnt flavor. Simply screw off the old cartridge and replace it with a fresh one. With V2 it's that simple!

How long does the battery last?
Answer
A fully charged battery can last anywhere from 4-5 hours for a very heavy smoker, to over a full week for a light social smoker. This depends entirely upon how often you use your V2 and your smoking style. The V2 Standard Automatic battery is designed to last at least 250 deep puffs... our extra long battery can last up to 450 puffs. As a battery's power diminishes, you will notice a reduction in vapor volume. It is always recommended to have a spare on hand, and to charge your batteries nightly.

Do I need to charge the battery before I use my V2?
Answer
Yes... V2 batteries are shipped with only a half charge. Although they may work without charging, the vapor volume will be reduced! For optimal performance you must fully charge your V2 batteries before your first use.

What flavors can I get for my V2?
Answer
As of March 2011, V2 cartridges are available in V2 Red Flavor Tobacco (similar to Marlboro), V2 Congress Flavor Tobacco (similar to Parliament), V2 Sahara Flavor Tobacco (similar to Camel), Menthol Tobacco, Peppermint Flavor, Coffee flavor, Cherry flavor, Vanilla Flavor, and Chocolate Flavor,Classic Cola. The next flavor scheduled for public launch is: Island Coconut and Banana Blast, and we will be launching other new flavors periodically throughout 2011.
